Capital What?
I’ve decided to do my issues paper on capital punishment and how it’s unconstitutional. Unfortunately, I think I need to better narrow my topic because of how broad it is. The three major issues this topic faces today is, does it go against our unalienable rights, is it morally sound, and is there a better solution to this problem. Some of the argument is that it prevents the taking of an innocent lives, it in fact does not make society safer, and that it’s a just consequence for those who choose evil. I think because I have so much research to work with that the difficulty of this paper can go ether way: easy because it helps me look at all points to the issue, or hard because the overwhelming amount and how broad it is. Also, because the church of Jesus Christ for later day saints “neither promote nor oppose capital punishment (go to http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/public-issues/capital-punishment)” I find that this topic will be very interesting to research because the choice I am now presented.
