PTSD

My topic is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and how the U.S. Government needs to better recognize the signs and symptoms in order to diagnose and treat war veterans. What I want to do is talk about the history of PTSD in the military and narrow it down by coming up with a specific treatment that I think is the best and argue that the government should provide funding and rehabilitation. As of right now PTSD is too narrowly defined which makes it hard for veterans to receive treatment for it. I also want to argue that they need screenings for all soldiers when they return home from war. As of right now, there are too many soldiers who go without treatment because they either do not understand what PTSD is exactly or that they are nervous that if they have it, they will not be able to return to active duty. The different arguments I think that i will use are testimony, authority and cause and effect. I think that this will be really effective in arguing my point.
